Project 4 "World War 2"

"Planning is the replacement of chance with error."

- Robert Nef -

Two fundamental projects have existed here for many years. The oldest was "Flames of War Eastern Front" (15mm) from 2010, the other Bolt Action "Talvisota - Finnish Winter War" (28 mm) from 2018.

While the first was played for a while, the second never got out of the construction stage. The attempt to restart both projects in the Corona phase from 2020 to 2022 was unsuccessful.

During this time, "O-Group" and "I Ain't been Shot, Mum" were also considered as replacements for "Flames of War".

The planning for 2024 now includes a third project, as well as the revitalization of the two older ones. "WW2 Pacific War."

The project should use the warlord games "Victory at Sea", "Blood Red Skies", "Bolt Action" and "Combined Arms". Two of the participants each have two of the game systems in their possession, sometimes including a solid inventory of miniatures.

Unfortunately, one participant has already dropped out for the time being.

This is exactly what can make a solo continuation of the first two projects useful, some sort of relaunch.  (01/09/24)

A detour via "I Ain't Been Shot Mum"

Now that the Pacific Project has “lost” both additional participants, I will first return to the older approaches.
I have now painted enough figures for IABSM, at least for the first test game.
My son made his old FoW Americans available and polished them up a bit. This is how the first test game begins.
Attached some pictures:

After the test game I set about painting more figures for the Germans.

Additionally, I painted a few partisans that I bought years ago for the FoW "Bagration" campaign.

Regular Russian soldiers and a few vehicles are already waiting, but I haven't started with them yet.

(05/2024) Three base of russian regular troops and one command base are painted and ready. Four more are ready to paint.

The project is gaining momentum.
